🚨 Arrest Made in Assault with Intent to Kill
37-year-old Christopher Dale Williamson was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
He is currently being held at the Stanly County Detention Center under a $150,000 bond. No additional details about the incident have been released at this time.
🏥 $1.45M Grant to Bring Virtual Nursing Program to Atrium Health Stanly
Atrium Health Stanly is set to receive a $1.45 million grant to launch a virtual nursing program, making it the first rural hospital in North Carolina fully wired for virtual nursing.
💡 Grant Source: Duke Endowment (part of a $4 million gift to Atrium Health Foundation)
🏥 Expected Impact:
• 50 new jobs created
• Enhanced bedside care with virtual monitoring
• Reduced hospital readmissions and improved outcomes
“Having cameras in every room will enable our bedside nurses to focus on direct patient care,” said Marietta Abernathy, executive director of Atrium Health Stanly.
Other grants included in the $4M total:
• $559K for Spanish-language translation AI research
• $775K for online scheduling at school-based clinics
• $755K to expand Health Sciences programs at Atrium Health Union
