👏 City Manager Todd Clark Honored as He Prepares to Retire
Albemarle City Council held a special presentation Monday night to honor City Manager Todd Clark, who will retire this Friday after 35 years in public service.
Mayor Ronnie Michael praised Clark for his leadership:
“Mr. Clark, thank you for all that you have done for us. You came in and helped us get through a very difficult budget this year… and you’ve been on top of everything during your time here.”
Councilman Dexter Townsend added:
“We commend you not just for your time here in Albemarle, but for 35 years of service to the public. You always made people feel valued when they came to City Hall.”
The council passed a formal resolution recognizing Clark’s career, noting his work in multiple North Carolina communities, his service on statewide boards, and his dedication to public service.
In an emotional farewell, Clark thanked council, city staff, and his family:
“It’s been a life of public service, and I couldn’t have done it without my wife Jane and our sons. This city is poised to do wonderful things, and I’m proud to have been part of it.”
Assistant City Manager Darren Rhodes will step into the role as Albemarle’s next city manager.
