- A Monday, September 1st traffic stop led to the arrest of 47-year-old Brian David Fesperman.
- Charges include:
- Two counts of expired registration card/tag
- Driving while license revoked (two counts)
- Felony possession of a Schedule II substance
- Carrying a concealed gun
- Maintaining a vehicle/dwelling place
- No insurance
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Fest is being held at the Stanly County Detention Center.

- West Stanly Fire Department announced expanded daily staffing with five firefighters on duty 24/7.
- This milestone was made possible through support from the board of directors and county commissioners.

- The Stanly County Sheriff’s Office reports a rise in phone scams.
- Scammers impersonate deputies or court officials, threatening legal action or demanding payment.

- The Sheriff’s Office and courts never request payments over the phone.
- Never share personal or financial info with unsolicited callers.
- Verify by contacting agencies directly with official phone numbers.
- Authorities urge residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious calls.
🚒 Badin Fire Department Improves Rating
- Badin Volunteer Fire Department’s ISO rating improved from Class 5 to Class 4, which may lower local insurance costs.
- State Fire Marshal Brian Taylor praised Chief Timothy Aaron Jarman and the department’s team: “The residents of Badin and Badin Yadkin Valley Fire District can take comfort in knowing this highly capable team of firefighters is safeguarding them.”
- Inspections evaluate equipment, training, and emergency response capability.
🎉 Albemarle Sets Community Night Out
- The City of Albemarle will host its Community Night Out on Saturday, October 11th from 4–7 PM at YMCA Park.
- Family-friendly event will feature:
- Bounce house, face painting, games, prizes, music
- Food trucks and community resource booths
- Meet-and-greet with first responders and nonprofits
- Police Chief Ryan Manley: “Community Night Out is one of APD’s favorite events because it creates a relaxed atmosphere for residents to meet our officers. The city is stronger when we all work together.”
