✂️ Ribbon Cutting at New Stanly Adult Care Center
A large crowd gathered Saturday morning for the grand opening and ribbon cutting at the Stanly Adult Care Center on Anderson Road in Albemarle. The event was hosted by the Stanly County Chamber of Commerce, with dozens of community leaders in attendance.
- The new facility will provide medical care and support for patients who have difficulty visiting a doctor, while also offering relief time for caregivers.
- Leaders from the county, city, and state praised the project’s impact.
Mayor Ronnie Michael said:
“This has been a long time coming. Probably 10 to 15 years ago there were discussions and dreams of having this facility. We are very fortunate for what we’re going to see and have in our community.”
State Senator Carl Ford added:
“Without Sandy [Carlock], I don’t think we’d be standing here today. This is going to be a blessing to a lot of people and families.”
Sandy Carelock, founder and driving force behind the center, called the project faith-driven:
“This is God’s project… This is not just walls. It’s a space of care, love, dignity, respect, and a connection with this community.”
The center is in its final stages of preparation, with a capacity of up to 40 people per day—serving as many as 80 to 100 individuals weekly depending on scheduling. Carelock’s vision also included an outdoor garden, which was part of Saturday’s tours.
She described the community’s support as “overwhelming” and said she looks forward to welcoming clients soon.
