New Assistant City Manager Named
- City Manager Todd Clark is set to retire at the end of this month.NC DOT to close road to pipe failure
- Incoming City Manager Darren Rhodes has selected ZachOllis as Albemarle’s next Assistant City Manager after a nationwide search with over 100 applicants.
- Hollis brings more than a decade of management experience in North Carolina communities.
đź“Ś Rhodes praised the selection:
“Throughout the interview process, Zach’s track record of leading successful local government teams and highly impactful community projects stood out.”
đź“Ś Ollis shared his excitement:
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to serve the city of Albemarle. The community has developed an outstanding strategic plan to guide its future, and I’m looking forward to continuing Albemarle’s progress.”
Background on Hollis:
- Current Town Manager of Cramerton (since 2022), managing an $8 million budget and nearly 100 staff.
- Previously served 6 years as Town Manager of Tryon, NC.
- Led capital projects, downtown revitalization, grant funding efforts, and parks expansions.
- Holds undergraduate and master’s degrees from Appalachian State University.
- Will officially begin his duties in Albemarle on September 15.
🌟 Hometown Heroes Honored
August Recognitions Celebrate Service
- Amber Wilson, Behavioral Health Nurse Manager at Atrium Health Stanly, was honored for her two decades of service.
- She is recognized for her compassion, leadership, and advocacy.
- Wilson shared that one of her greatest achievements, second only to being a mother, is being a nurse.
- Tommy Lee, U.S. Navy veteran and Stanly County native, was also honored.
- Served aboard the USS America during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
- Now ensures the safety of MedCenter Air’s aircraft at Charlotte Douglas Airport.
- A proud father of five and grandfather of six.
