⚖️ Stanly Clerk Helps Lead New State Logo

  • The North Carolina Conference of Clerks of Superior Court unveiled a new logo at their summer conference.
  • Hon. Ginger Efird, Clerk of Court in Stanly County, played a key role as chair of the Public Relations Committee.
  • Graphic designer Nicole Welsh worked closely with clerks statewide, saying: “It was an absolute pleasure getting to work with the clerks and making their vision for a new logo a reality.”
  • The new design includes two official logos for 2025, representing all 100 clerks across North Carolina with colors from the judicial seal: blue, gold, red, and parchment.
  • Hon. Jim Mixon, conference president, said: “Our conference’s new logo perfectly represents the North Carolina Conference, capturing the spirit of our state from the mountains to the sea.”

🏙️ Albemarle City Projects Update

At his first council meeting as city manager, Darren Rhodes briefed Albemarle officials on ongoing projects:

  • Highway 52 reconductoring: Near completion; a few poles still need replacement.
  • Highway 73 reconductoring: Scheduled for early 2026.
  • Rock Creek Park Ball field lights: Installation underway; should be finished next week for adult softball league play.
  • Urban Planning Workshop: Sept. 18 from 3–6 PM at Centralina Regional Council offices, offering hands-on training for public officials.

🚧 Sewer Repair at Five Points

  • Albemarle City Council approved a $311,093.77 change order for the Phase 3 sewer rehab project near Five Points.
  • Engineer Adam Kiker of LKC Engineering presented details and answered questions before the council.

🏆 Albemarle Wins Statewide Innovation Award

  • Roy Jones, CEO of Electric Cities, presented Albemarle with the first-ever Innovation and Economic Development Award.
  • The award recognized the city’s Downtown Catalyst Grant Program, a $2.5 million public-private partnership to revitalize downtown.
  • Jones said: “It brings back jobs, it brings back that vibrant downtown feel… it creates jobs downtown, clearly.”
  • EDC Director Lindsey Almond and city leaders accepted the award on behalf of Albemarle.
